Organic Hops Flower, Chamomile Flower, Organic Lemon Balm

Hops have a distinctly bitter taste, which some people find refreshing. The bitterness comes from the same compounds that give beer its flavor. It can be an acquired taste, but many appreciate its earthy and slightly floral notes.

Start with a short steeping time and adjust to your taste

Hops and Chamomile are known for their calming properties, and a tea has been traditionally used as a natural sleep aid and to soothe digestion and stomach upset.

Many people drink Chamomile or Lemon Balm tea before bed to help them relax and improve sleep quality.

Studies suggest Chamomile may have mild sedative effects. It may help to reduce feelings of anxiety and some studies have explored its potential as a mild anxiolytic (anxiety-reducing) agent.

Some find that Lemon Balm helps to lift their mood and reduce feelings of sadness or irritability. There's some preliminary research suggesting that lemon balm may have positive effects on cognitive function, including memory and concentration.

To Prepare as Tea:

Bring fresh water to a near boil. Avoid a rolling boil, as this can make the tea taste bitter. Around 200-212°F (93-100°C) is ideal. If you don't have a thermometer, let the water boil and then let it sit for a minute or two to cool slightly.

Place the herbal blend in a tea infuser, tea bag, or directly into your mug or teapot. A general guideline is about 1-2 teaspoons per cup of water, but you can adjust this to your preference.

Pour the hot water over the Herbs. If using a mug, cover it with a small plate or saucer to keep the heat in. If using a teapot, close the lid. This helps to extract the flavor and beneficial compounds from the herbs.

Let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes. You can steep it longer for a stronger flavor, but be careful not to oversteep, as it can become bitter.

Strain the tea and compost the herbs!

Add honey, lemon, or other sweeteners to taste.
